2D/1N Cloud Forest Experience. Mindo town and reserves.

<p>Day 1:</p><p>We depart from Quito in the morning and our first stop will be after approximately one hour later at one of the cloud forest reserves. Here will have the chance to hike through the different trails learning about this unique ecosystem. We will drive to Mindo Town for lunch. After lunch we will visit the artisanal chocolate factory where we will have the chance to watch the process of making one of the best chocolates in the country from the growing of the tree to the chocolate bar. And we will sample it of course. This chocolate is only exported out of Ecuador. After this, we will go to the hotel for check in and to enjoy of the facilities before dinner. Dinner is included. At night time it is possible to have the option of a night walk with an extra cost (reservation has to be made in advance).</p>

<p>The night before you can decide with the guide if you want an early wake up at 06h00 for birdwatching (optional, no cost). During this activity we will try to find a number of bird species from this region. After birding we will return to the hotel for breakfast and check out. Then we will move to the area of the Nambillo waterfalls. This waterfalls are born from the precipitation occurring in this region and accumulated by the forest so the water is clean and very pleasant for swimming. After the waterfalls we will have the chance to go a butterfly garden, the biggest in the town. The purpose of this farm is environmental education and conservation of the different species belonging to the “Choco” region. We will have lunch and will return to Quito.</p>
